This webinar will discuss key concepts of competency assessment, as well as lessons learned by a small faculty team that has begun this shift to competency based assessment.
Speakers
Dr. Carrie Stroup is the Dean of the Division of Natural and Health Sciences and the Chief Nurse Administrator at Malone University Canton, Ohio. In her 12 years as a nurse educator, she has developed a deep interest in the development and evaluation of clinical judgment in undergraduate nursing students. Beginning in the fundamental levels of nursing education, she has worked to develop processes for integrating a leveled approach to clinical judgment instruction throughout the curriculum. Her research focuses on clinical judgment development, utilizing SBAR as a tool for debriefing, NGN NCLEX test item development, and clinical evaluation.
